	What is Nanometer(nm)? Nanometer (nm) is a length’s measurement unit. 1nm=10-9，or 1/1,000,000,000 m，or 1/50,000 of the diameter of a hair. It’s really hard to image how small theses numbers represent? To be easier to catch, we take the ratio of 1m to 1nm just like the comparison between the Earth’s diameter 12,800 km to a marble’s diameter 1.28cm. When a particle size reaches 100nm or below, its ordinary characteristics are changed, e.g. physical/chemical/ optical properties, & so on, change to the way that are unfamiliar to us, which in turns provokes the studying/researching/application of nano materials to the greatest extend.
